Haflinger horses originated in the southern Austrian/northern Italian region called the Tyrol.

Used in small alpine farms they had to be versatile, agile, able to be managed by all family members, easy to keep and hardy in cold conditions.

These attributes have been carefully preserved and developed, the result being a perfect all-rounder, with a natural curiosity and interest in people. It's one of their most endearing qualities. Coupled with their unique appearance, you will find them hard to resist.
